Real Journeys of Living Beyond the Binary
Not everyone fits neatly into the categories of “man” or “woman.” For nonbinary people, gender exists outside—or in between—those traditional labels. Their experiences are just as real, powerful, and valid.
In this post, we’re honored to share a few stories from nonbinary individuals in our community—about finding language, expression, and peace in their identities.
“There is no one way to be nonbinary. And that’s the beauty of it.”

🌿 Sky (they/them):
“My Gender Is Quiet but Constant”
“I always felt different growing up. I didn’t hate my body, but I didn’t feel like a ‘girl’ either.
I thought maybe I just didn’t care about gender. But when I found the word ‘nonbinary,’ it gave me something I didn’t know I needed: peace.
Now I wear binders some days, flowy clothes on others, and I don’t need to explain myself to feel whole.”
Favorite affirming product: A soft binder that’s easy to move in
Gender expression style: Minimalist, layered, and neutral tones

🟣 Eli (xe/xem):
“I Create My Own Shape”
“I’m neurodivergent, nonbinary, and proud.
For me, clothes and accessories are like building blocks—I shape how I’m perceived based on how I feel that day.
Tucking isn’t about hiding; it’s about control. And when I wear tape, it’s not because I want to be ‘feminine,’ it’s because I feel strong when my body matches my intention.”
Favorite affirming product: Tucking tape
Gender expression style: Experimental, bold, maximalist
💛 Ren (they/she):
“I’m Not in Between. I’m Something Else Entirely.”
“People always ask if I’m ‘half man, half woman.’ I’m not.
I’m a whole person, just not one you’ve seen before.
Coming out as nonbinary didn’t simplify my life—but it made it honest.
When I started using gender-affirming products, like packing underwear and compression tanks, it wasn’t about hiding. It was about showing up as me.”
Favorite affirming product: Compression tank tops & loose-fitting jeans
Gender expression style: Vintage queer meets streetwear

Experimentation with clothing, language, and products
Relief in finding community and representation
A powerful reclaiming of space, even when misunderstood
There is no checklist for being nonbinary. What matters is:
Feeling true
Feeling safe
Feeling seen
